With up to 75,000 transactions per second, it supports all smart contracts and dApps built on the Ethereum stack. It was founded in 2019 by blockchain entrepreneur Alex Alexandrov and is based in Switzerland. Velas uses Delegated Proof of Stake consensus, with VLX coins used for transactions, payments, fees, and supporting Proof-of-Stake consensus. The project aims to provide an efficient user experience and a decentralized ecosystem for its users.
