The Token On-Chain Monitoring & Intelligence module helps you evaluate the on-chain community engagement of a project through token ownership and activity, wallet analysis, on-chain analytics, and smart-money tracking. For a project with multiple smart contracts, you can select a specific smart contract related to a project’s token and gain insight into how a community is interacting with a token. Access high-level data on community growth, conduct historical analysis on token-related activity, analyze gas fees, and track top wallet addresses and whale activity with more ease.

Performance Summary

In addition to the current token price and 24h trading volume, Performance Summary displays high-level data on a token’s on-chain activity:

  • Token Holder (total and 24h New)
  • Unique active users (24h, 7 day, or 30 day percentage change)
  • Transactions (24h, 7 day, or 30 day percentage change)
  • Token Transferred (24h, 7 day, or 30 day percentage change)

This simple on-chain data can indicate what the overall level of interest, activity, and health of a token is.

On-chain Analytics

Performance Summary data is also available graphically under the On-chain Analytics section. This helps you visualize how on-chain activity has changed over time. Here are some sample insights that can be extracted from on-chain data.

  • Number of Token Holders: A high number of token holders of a token can indicate that there is strong interest in the token and that many people are buying and holding it. This could be a positive sign for the future prospects of the token, as it suggests that it has a large and active community of supporters.
  • Changes in Daily Active Users: Changes in the number of daily active users of a token can provide insight into the overall level of interest and usage of the token. If the number of unique active users is increasing over time, it could indicate that there is growing interest and adoption of the token. On the other hand, if the number of unique active users is decreasing, it could indicate that there is a lack of interest or usage of the token, which could potentially be a red flag for investors.

Wallet Age Distribution

An indicator of health and activity for a particular token is the age of wallets that hold the token. The Wallet Age Distribution section displays the Average Wallet Age, the age of the Oldest Wallet, the age of the Newest Wallet, and a horizontal bar chart that breaks down the age composition of wallets.

A high average wallet age can indicate that there is a strong and established community of users who have been holding the cryptocurrency for an extended period of time. This could be a positive indicator, as it suggests that there is a high level of interest and belief in the project’s long-term prospects.

Conversely, a low average wallet age could signal there is not a strong community of users supporting the long-term success of the project.

Smart Contracts

The Smart Contract section illustrates how total gas fee and daily media gas price changes over time for all transactions that interact with the smart contract (you can toggle between 14 days, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, and 1 year).

  • Total Gas Fee (Gwei): By knowing the total gas fee, it is possible to get a sense of the overall amount of money that is being spent on gas fees, which can be helpful for assessing the overall level of activity.
  • Daily Media Gas Price (Gwei): The gas price is the amount that users are willing to pay for each unit of gas in order to have their transactions processed. Our Daily Median Gas Price Chart provides a useful representation of the typical price that users are willing to pay, as well as the range of prices that users have paid.

Smart Money

Smart money is a term that is used to refer to the investment decisions of professional or institutional investors who are considered to be knowledgeable and experienced. These investors are often thought to have access to better information and analysis than individual retail investors, and their investment decisions are typically seen as more informed and savvy. When smart money investors are buying into a particular asset, it is often seen as a bullish sign, and when they are selling, it is often seen as bearish.

Top Volume Addresses

The top volume addresses are the addresses that have the highest transaction volumes (sent and received) over a 7-day period. By knowing the top volume addresses, it is possible to get a sense of which addresses are most active in trading the token, and this can provide valuable information for investors who are considering buying or selling the token. Additionally, the top volume addresses can be a useful tool for identifying potential market manipulators.

Wallet addresses are clickable and will direct you to CertiK’s Wallet Analyzer Page where you can view additional information about a wallet, like key wallet characteristics, wallet portfolio composition, wallet relationships, and wallet trading activity.

Hovering over any value under the “Total Balance” column will display a wallet’s top five holding tokens in USD, providing an at-a-glance view into which tokens make up the majority of a wallet’s holdings.

Whales Holding

It can be useful to know whale addresses because they are the addresses of large wallet balances or major holders of the token. These addresses are often associated with large and influential investors, such as institutional investors or wealthy individuals. By knowing the whale addresses for a particular token, it is possible to get a sense of which investors are the most heavily invested in the token, and this can provide valuable information for other investors who are considering buying or selling the token. Additionally, the actions of whale addresses can often have a significant impact on the market for a particular token, so tracking their activity can provide valuable insights into the overall health and direction of the market.

Similar to Top Volume Addresses, wallet addresses displayed under Whales Holding are clickable and will direct you to the Wallet Analyzer where you can do a deeper dive into wallets of interest.
